What is the role of the PSO at IntraFind?

Understanding customers and implementing projects as a team
Markus Magdolen’s role has evolved significantly since he joined IntraFind a few years ago: He now not only manages projects but also leads a project team within the PSO that focuses on cybersecurity. Not only have his responsibilities evolved—the projects themselves have become more diverse. AI technologies are playing an increasingly important role, and we need teams that understand these technologies and implement them in a way that creates tangible value for our customers.
HR-Managerin Lisa Boyce in conversation with Markus Magdolen.
A few years ago, you talked about your responsibilities at IntraFind. How has your role changed since then?
I started at IntraFind about five years ago as a project manager and have since had the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally within the company. Since 2024, I’ve also been leading a development team in the field of cybersecurity, which we’re continuously expanding. Together, we work on challenging technological topics related to cybersecurity, enterprise search, data analysis, AI, and customer-specific solutions. What makes this particularly exciting is the combination of innovative technologies, a high level of responsibility, and the opportunity to actively contribute to future-oriented security solutions.
What makes your projects exciting and technologically interesting?
Our projects in the field of cybersecurity are particularly exciting because they combine modern technologies with real-world challenges. The demands are constantly increasing as digital infrastructures, data volumes, and threat scenarios become increasingly complex.
Intelligent data analysis, modern search technologies, and the structured evaluation of large data volumes play a central role in efficiently identifying security-relevant information and making it usable. In addition, we use components of our standard enterprise search software, iFinder, which enables searches across permission-protected, organization-wide data. This is a key component for efficient cybersecurity analysis and quickly finding security-relevant information. At the same time, our projects require a high degree of responsibility, as we work daily with critical data, security requirements, and the protection of digital infrastructures.
What kind of people are a particularly good fit for IntraFind, the PSO, and your team?
People who enjoy taking on responsibility, are curious about technology, and enjoy developing innovative solutions together are a particularly good fit for IntraFind and our team. Our six core values play a central role in this: solution-oriented thinking, respect, responsibility, quality, proactivity, and foresight. This is evident, for example, in the way we address problems openly, avoid passing the buck, and work together to find viable solutions. We deliberately give our employees a great deal of creative freedom and encourage initiative, creativity, and new ideas. As a medium-sized company with around 70 employees, we work in a very dynamic and closely connected way and are always tackling modern, future-oriented technological topics. If you enjoy helping to shape the future, want to continuously develop your skills, and thrive on demanding technological challenges, you’ll be a great fit for us.
You’ve been with IntraFind for several years now. What do you value about IntraFind as an employer?
This is now my second time participating in the career blog, after my first contribution in 2022. Many of the things I valued about IntraFind back then still hold true for me today. I find the high level of stability within the workforce particularly noteworthy, as well as the fact that many personal friendships have developed over the years. What I appreciate most is the significant creative freedom, the diverse development opportunities, and the high degree of autonomy—things you often don’t find to the same extent in larger organizations. Another major strength, in my view, is that we recruit across Germany and, depending on the role, even internationally. This allows us to attract a wide range of perspectives and talents while simultaneously creating a modern, flexible work environment that enables independent work regardless of location.
